GENERAL INFORMATION

Established:  Badsberg Wine Cellar was established on 6 April 1951

Cellarmaster:  Willie Burger

Production Manager & WineMaker:  Henri Swiegers

Winemaker:  Jaco Booysen, Christiaan Nigrini

Viticulturist:  Willie Burger, Jaco Booysen

Vineyards: Currently 75% white and 25% red.

New Plantings: Merlot, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat Cultivars

Soil Types: Rock, sandy loam, black turf, red mountain soil with rocky terrace.

Geography: Mild, warm summers with nights cooling off rapidly, especially along the mountainside.

Rainfall: Winter rainfall region with rainfall primarily between May and September. The average rainfall is approximately 800mm per annum.

Regional Information: Badsberg is part of Badsberg Conservancy.
